Rocket Jeep Dev Blog Update – May 1, 2025
I finally completed the rear thrusters and am now moving on to the retopology phase.
Rocket Jeep Dev Blog Update – 4/30/2025
Today I cleaned up and reworked several key areas of the model:
Refined the windshield geometry for better shape and clarity.
Reworked the truck bed paneling so it now sits flush with the cabin.
Updated the geometry of the rear fender flares for smoother integration and better silhouette.
Next, I’ll be focusing on refining the rockets mounted in the truck bed. Once that’s done, the high poly phase should be complete.

Today's session was focused on continuing the cleanup pass for the Rocket Jeep's shell geometry.
I finished cleaning up the doors, hood, fenders, grill, and cabin areas. The goal was to optimize the topology while keeping all the major forms locked in for the final detailing stages later.
Next up on the list is the windshield and truck bed. These areas will need extra attention to maintain clean loops, especially around the curved windshield frame and any cutouts in the bed.
I'm making solid progress and aiming to have the full shell geo cleanup wrapped up soon so I can move into the final secondary detailing phase.
More updates to come!
April 21, 2025 – Rocket Jeep Progress Update
This week, I wrapped up the brake calipers and got the bumper fully connected to the chassis—tight and clean. Moving on to the rear, I started working on the truck bed area. The tailgate has been reimagined as an adjustable spoiler for a more aggressive silhouette and potential aero functionality.
I also brought back the truck bed cover, but with a twist—it's now lifted slightly to help house the rocket thrusters, giving the rear end a more mechanical and purpose-built look. Next step: refining the truck bed layout to support the thruster components and ensure everything fits cleanly without compromising design.

Another solid milestone on the Rocket Jeep build — I’ve officially wrapped up both the front and rear suspension systems, and the front chassis is dialed in too. Everything’s starting to look and feel like a fully functioning off-road beast, and I’m really happy with how the form and mechanics are coming together.
Next up, I’m planning to build a connector piece for the front bumper, something that integrates cleanly with the chassis but still gives off that aggressive, ready-to-launch vibe.
On the mechanical side, I’ve moved into the brake system now. The rotors are fully modeled, and I’m currently working through the calipers — dialing in the shapes, details, and making sure they look functional while staying within the Rocket Jeep’s stylized design language.
As always, open to feedback — especially if anyone has good refs for rugged, stylized brake calipers or unique suspension setups!
More to come soon 🔧💥

Quick update on the Rocket Jeep build — I’ve been diving deep into the guts of the vehicle lately and making solid progress. The chassis and undercarriage are now feeling way more grounded (pun intended). I spent a good chunk of time refining the detail work underneath, making sure every element feels purpose-built and rugged — like it could actually handle launching off a ramp or tearing through rough terrain.
Right now, I'm shifting focus to the rear suspension system. I’m mocking up the components for the wheels and shocks, making sure everything connects logically and has a bit of stylized realism. It’s still in progress, but already starting to feel like the Jeep has some real heft and power behind it.
More updates soon once the suspension is locked in! As always, feedback and thoughts are welcome — especially if you’ve got cool references for high-performance off-road suspensions or stylized mechanical setups.

Progress continues on the Rocket Jeep! I’ve added rocket thrusters to the back, pulling inspiration from various ArtStation posts to stay in line with the Rocket League aesthetic. I also brought back some previously deleted details from my original Jeep Gladiator model to help flesh out the design. It's starting to feel more grounded in that over-the-top, high-octane style.

I’ve officially kicked off work on the Rocket Jeep! I’m taking the Jeep Gladiator model I built a while back and transforming it into a Rocket League–style vehicle. The goal is to evolve the design so it fits naturally alongside the existing cars in the game. To help with scaling and hitbox accuracy, I’m referencing the Octane car asset I previously acquired from Epic Games.
